Heights Christian Church is part of the Christian Church (Disciples of
Christ) in the We are a mainline church in the mainstream of American Protestantism, Ecumenical in our stance, and Evangelical in our fervor. We seek to worship in meaningful and creative ways, incorporating solid scholarship, relevant preaching, joyous singing, and fervent prayer. We celebrate the Lord's Supper (communion) every week as a sign of our unity with the whole church. We baptize believers by immersion, but welcome Christians from other traditions without re-baptism. We believe in the freedom and the responsibility of each person to come to the Lord in ways appropriate for his or her own pilgrimage of faith. We see the church congregation as a place to grow in faith and understanding through study, counseling, and prayer. In addition to serving the needs of our own congregation, we believe in giving our goods and selves in causes which serve the community and the world in the name of Christ, recognizing that our own congregation is only as strong as our commitment to others through Christ.
